We are a Green Tech business on KQED Education

Posted by Sara Bonomi on Jul 29, 2013 1:18:10 PM

We at Type A Machines wish to operate a green tech business model. We source materials as much as possible from local suppliers to build the Series 1 3D printer, while running the whole operations locally at TechShop San Francisco.

Our preferred type of material is PLA, a type of bio-plastic which is both non-toxic and recyclable. Moreover, 3D printing is by itself a type of green process: you use only the exact amount of material needed to build an object, without waste during production.

Watch my interview on KQED Education - Work Voices: an educational series about foreigners who live in the USA and work in green tech businesses in the Bay Area.

As some of you know, I was born in Italy and I moved to San Francisco few months ago to join the awesome Type A Machines team. I'm happy to share some insights about our company's values and my job in these videos. Hope you enjoy my Italian accent :-)
